NEWS FROM CASF!

Markie min pin puppy Dear Animal Lover,

We are happy to announce that recent improvements in our facility and the ongoing dedication of our volunteers as helped us save a record number of animals over the past year.  We continue to help needy animals who are abandoned at animal shelters and veterinary hospitals.  Most of the animals we help come to us because they have a special medical need or because they are newborns (and too young to be maintained in a normal public animal shelter).

Your ongoing support through adopting animals, being a responsible pet owner and donating to assist us is extremely important and very much appreciated.

Thank you again for all that you do to help the animals!

Tripod the 3 legged kittenMISSING 1 LEG BUT PLENTY OF EXTRA TOES
This amazing kitten (Tripod) is a true survivor.  She was run over by a car when she was barely 8 weeks old.  She was then abandoned at a veterinary hospital (by her owners who had run her over).  Both of her back legs were broken.  One leg was so badly injured it had to be amputated.  The other broken back leg was surgically repaired and healed wonderfully.  To make up for only having 3 legs this special girl has extra toes (polydactyl).  No one will ever call this little beauty ordinary.

Despite everything she has been through she has never stopped purring.  She is loving, affectionate, playful and very special.  She is black with a smoke colored undercoat.

She is fully recovered from her injuries and doesn't even notice that she is missing a leg.
She is available for adoption now and will make a great companion for a family, couple or single person.

Oreo the 3 legged kittenANOTHER AMAZING SURVIVOR NEEDS A HOME!
This precious little kitten (Oreo) is also ready to go to a great home.  The poor little guy was found with an injured leg.  The leg was non-functional and putting him at risk of injury so was surgically removed.  He is so sweet, so loving and so cute.  He doesn't even notice that he's missing a leg.

He is available for adoption now and will make a great companion for a family, couple or single person.

Markie min pin puppyAS ALWAYS...ADORABLE PUPPIES and ADULT DOGS
Because California Animal Shelter Friends, Inc. is one of the few groups in California that routinely rescues litters of puppies and moms with puppies from animal shelters (regardless of breed), we always have adorable puppies looking for homes.

We will have a litter of 4 Australian Shepherd mix puppies available the last week of July as well as a litter of 8 labrador retriever mix puppies and 2 Australian cattledog mix puppies available the first week of August.

We also have several wonderful adult dogs looking for homes.

Pepper - chihuahua terrier mixADORABLE SMALL BREED DOGS
We have several very sweet, loving little dogs right now, including 3 chihuahua/terrier mixes ranges in age from 10 months to 2 years.

As is usual for our group, these dogs were rescued after they were abandoned for medical reasons, not behavioral ones, and their medical issues have been treated and they are fully recovered.

Pepper (pictured here) came to us with a fractured pelvis after being hit by a car.  Willi came to us with a broken leg.  Both have received veterinary care and have recovered from their injuries.  We also haved an adorable female dog who came to us after being abandoned at a shelter pregnant.  All 3 of these little dogs need and deserve new loving homes.

Thank you again for all your support.  Without your generous donations and the loving homes you provide we couldn't continue our efforts to help these wonderful animals.

Sincerely,
